New Lab for ESG's Energy & Waste Services Division

05 January 2016

ESG, the UK’s leading provider of testing, inspection and compliance services, has announced the acquisition of a new gas testing laboratory in Kempston, Bedfordshire.

The investment follows the launch of ESG’s new Energy & Waste Services division and will allow the company to broaden its gas testing capability.

Under the terms of the agreement, three employees will transfer into ESG’s Energy & Waste Services division. These technicians will examine samples taken from UK landfill sites, analysing them for a variety of toxins and hazardous chemicals.

The new facility will enable ESG to build on its existing portfolio, as well as diversifying its services available to clients.

Declan Burns, managing director, Energy & Waste Services, ESG commented: “The UK produces around 220 million tonnes of controlled waste every year, of which around 30 per cent will be sent to landfill.

“Our new laboratory allows us to provide additional support for the sector through our broad range of environmental chemistry services, helping our clients improve efficiency and reduce operational costs on their sites.”
