Chlorine dioxide can be used to prevent legionella in water systems by breaking down biofilm build up in pipes and tanks. The design of ESG’s dosing system keeps the reaction process to produce chlorine dioxide contained within the water system’s pipework via a chemically inert mixing chamber, rather than outside of the system. In addition, the dual precursor chemicals are drawn directly from a bunded supply, ensuring a safer operation by eliminating the risk of chemical solutions mixing by accidental spillage or failure.
Since 2008, the Water Regulations Advisory Scheme (WRAS) has been committed to safeguarding public health through the prevention of public water supply contamination, as well as ensuring efficient water usage. Any water fitting that comes into contact with public mains water supply must comply with the 'Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations' which can be illustrated through WRAS approval.
