Reaction Beam
Designed for use with reaction piles, ESG's stock of reaction beam systems range in capacity to over 30MN, to suit two, three, four, six or eight anchor piles.
Lorry-based Systems
ESG through its PMC brand, is best known for pioneering lorry-based packaged systems incorporating its patented cranked beam.
The systems have revolutionised the way piling companies organise load tests and the efficiencies made available to clients have brought them considerable cost savings.
No longer does a piling company have to:-
- Design a load frame, select the components from its yard, crane them onto a hired-in lorry, send additional manpower to site, provide a crane to unload the lorry and erect the frame on site
- Re-mobilise labour and a crane, strip down the frame and load it out, transport back to yard, off-load and store it
- Provide the Resident Engineer with design proposals, structural calculations, method statements and risk assessments
- Worry about whether all the components have been sent to site or whether that one vital part gets "lost" in transit or damaged on site.
All these are efficiently taken care of by ESG leaving piling companies to concentrate on their core activities.
Our standard systems range in capacity up to 10MN and comprise of a crane-lorry fitted out with an integral cabin as a testing station. Our test technicians erect the system, carry out the test and demob all equipment from site efficiently and effectively.
Standard lorry-based systems are available in the following load capacities and configurations (other configurations are available upon request):
The ESG PMC Patented Cranked Beam
This was originally designed to allow the safe, stable use of only two anchors. Capacities of test beams of this design are currently available up to 3000kN.
Its inherent stability also makes this beam design suitable for use as a secondary beam in many situations.
High Capacity Reaction Beam Systems
Designed for use with reaction piles our stock of high capacity reaction beam systems range in capacity to over 30MN, to suit two, three, four, six or eight anchor piles arranged at spans of up to 14 metres. At the forefront in safety innovation its system of tension elements are designed to:
- Minimise working at height
- Eliminate the use of thread bar couplers
- Reduce the number of stressed system components
- Reduce the possibility of falling or projected components in the event of failure
