ESG are the only UK company to hold ISO 17025 accreditation for hand sampling of coal to the relevant international technical standards. We are active at all major ports and have provided independent certification of almost 30 million tonnes of coal from over 700 vessels in the past year

Our sampling protocols include provision of a sampling report detailing observation of the cargo, records of stoppages, identification of contaminant material and any other anomalies relating to the cargo during discharge.

Audit Services

The determination of cargo weight by draught survey is carried out by ESG appointed surveyors in accordance with recognised European form.

We also provide a range of field services which include the technical audit and bias testing of over 20 commercial mechanical sampling systems at power stations, mine pits and other industrial premises each year.

We are currently responsible for the commercial evaluation of over 50 million tonnes of internationally traded coal.
