forensics cannabis testEnvironmental Scientifics Group’s Laboratories and Analytical Division is a well established provider of Forensic Science services drawing on years of experience and knowledge as well as its UKAS accredited analytical methods.

ESG’s Forensic Services provide an extensive range of forensic testing and forensic consultancy and can examine evidence in criminal and civil court cases, provide court ready reports and statements, and where needed, provide the services of trained court reporting officers. Data integrity is key to everything we do and the principles of forensic examination and chain of custody are applied rigorously to all the work in this section. Our independent and objective scientists offer customers the assurance that they are getting uncompromised accurate results when they need them.

Our services include:

ESG’s Forensic Science services team are highly qualified and experienced, utilising the latest techniques to provide an extensive range of Forensic Science services and consultancy.

Operating from a state-of-the-art Home Office licensed laboratory that is fully equipped to conduct UKAS accredited analysis of solid drugs and urine samples, our highly skilled scientists have proven management experience to protect the chain of custody.

Protecting the Chain of Custody
drug and alcohol screeningThe ESG premises are protected by a high level of security to comply with the requirements of Home Office licenses issued for the storage, handling and analysis of controlled drug substances. The Forensics Science team operate a proven management system with established protocols to track the ownership and description of all submissions received for examination and personal liaison takes place between the case officer and forensic scientist to secure mutual confidence. ESG’s Forensic Science team provide excellent delivery times for all Forensic Services. This includes a ‘Fast-track’ facility for very urgent casework including the analysis of test purchases of suspected drugs.

 

 

 

Drug Analysis
ESG Forensic Science offer a complete range of drug analysis including:

  • Identification and quantification of solid drugs
  • Examination of drug taking paraphernalia
  • Supply chain investigation - comparison of drug wraps and packaging to show chain of supply of drugs
  • Crime Scene investigation

Scene of Crime Evidence
ESG’s UKAS accredited forensic laboratory conducts a comprehensive range of identification tests on crime scene evidence that are fully documented and therefore fully defensible including:

  • Rapid review of scientific evidence
  • Comparison of toolmarks and shoemarks
  • Determination of the physical fit between Crime Scene items
  • Examination of contact transfer evidence including: glass, paint, fibres, metal etc

Drug and Alcohol Screening
ESG offers a complete service for drug and alcohol screening in the workplace including sample collection, laboratory analysis and reporting of test results. Our uncompromising standards and UKAS accreditation ensures any results are fully defensible in a court of law or industrial tribunal. Drug and alcohol screening services including:

  • Drugs of abuse in urine screening:
  • Pre-employment screening
  • Random testing
  • Post-incident testing
  • For-cause testing
  • Policy development

Fire and Arson Investigation
Our qualified Forensic Scientists conduct a range of fire investigation services including:

  • Arson accelerant identification
  • Fire scene examination
