Asbestos Air monitoring and 4 stage clearance
Four-stage clearance is the procedure carried out by the UKAS accredited laboratory following asbestos removal. A visual inspection must be conducted by the analyst to ensure that the area has been cleaned to a satisfactory standard and is suitable for re-occupation.
Clearance air monitoring is then conducted inside the enclosure to check that airborne fibre levels are below the recommended limit. Once satisfactory results are achieved the analyst will issue a certificate of re-occupation, which will enable people to safely re-enter the area without risk.
ESG provide a complete inspection and airborne fibre monitoring service including reassurance inspections and air quality monitoring, personal exposure and 4-stage clearance testing for certificates of re-occupation following asbestos removal, in accordance with HSG248.
