Radiochemistry at Didcot
Thursday 23 February 2012
It may seem astonishing but ESG have now been based in Didcot for over 12 months. The state-of-the-art laboratory facility has housed ESG’s radiochemistry business following its relocation from the Harwell site in January 2011.
Relocating laboratories always presents challenges and this project was no exception however, the move to a new facility has provided ESG with numerous advantages and we would like to share these with you. The new Didcot laboratory has the benefits of being purpose designed to ensure ongoing operational improvements over the Harwell facility with a greater focus
on the radiochemistry services provided by ESG.
The laboratory provides the same UKAS accredited analysis that was available at Harwell but with the added benefit of an integrated Environmental Chemistry Laboratory.
The Group holds Environment Agency Permits for the acceptance of radioactive material at both its Didcot and Bretby laboratories. This means we can provide a completely integrated service, including couriers, despatch of containers with cool boxes and tailored reporting including AGS and GIS formats. In addition, we are committed to providing very competitive rates for all analyses and will work with you to ensure that data is available in a timely manner to assist you with your project deadlines.
