ESG become the UK’s first company to gain UKAS accreditation for maintained load testing
Environmental Scientifics Group (ESG), the UK’s leading environmental compliance company, is pleased to announce that it has become the UK’s first company to achieve UKAS accredited status for a range of its services including Maintained Load Testing, Dynamic Load Testing and Pile Integrity Testing (low strain and ultrasonic logging).
UKAS stipulated stringent criteria throughout the accreditation process and awarded glowing references to ESG in relation to both the technical expertise demonstrated and the procedures process.
Many piling specifications stipulate UKAS accreditation for maintained load testing; and ESG is the only company to have gained this accreditation within the UK. As such, ESG offers significant reassurance to Piling Specialists and Piling Consultants that it can deliver the full suite of testing applications to the highest standard.
Through its Specialist Foundation Testing Division, ESG has been at the forefront of piled foundation testing, particularly maintained load testing with the use of its patented reaction beam system. PMC became part of ESG in 2008, and following investment, also achieved accreditation to calibrate its large stock of load cells, traceable to National Standards.
Through its continual dedication and hard work, ESG has successfully implemented a management system focussed on the continual review and improvement to procedures and working practices. This focus has driven efficiencies from within the division and has culminated in this industry first and an unsurpassed reputation.
Martyn Ellis, Operations Director at ESG says “In a service sector with ever increasing scrutiny and valued data collection, it was important to position ourselves above our competitors. Gaining UKAS accreditation will provide us with a unique offering to the piling industry, and ensure the best possible service to our clients in terms of technical ability, experience and quality of data.”
