Environmental Scientifics Group expands its operations
Addition of Eclipse Scientific adds further expertise to the Group

Environmental Scientifics Group (ESG), the UK’s leading environmental compliance specialist is pleased to announce the expansion of its service range with the addition of its sister company Eclipse Scientific into the Group.

The change follows the recent reorganisation of its holding company Inspicio following the successful sale of its Inspectorate business to Bureau Veritas, leaving ESG as the largest operating business within the Group.

The Inspicio Group will be rebranded as ESG. ESG will comprise Environmental Scientifics Group (a UK market leader in geotechnical, laboratory and analytical and compliance testing, inspection and certification (“TIC”) services) and Eclipse Scientific Group (a UK and Irish market leading food testing business). Eclipse Scientific will be retained as a brand within ESG alongside its other leading brands including Soil Mechanics, TES Bretby, PMC and CL Voelcker.

The enlarged ESG Group will be led by the current management team of the Environmental Scientifics Group, with Alex Sleeth as Group CEO and Nick Louden as Group CFO.

Alex Sleeth, CEO said: “The addition of the Eclipse Scientific Group into ESG significantly expands our Laboratory and Analytical capabilities, especially in the food and drink, dairy, pharmaceuticals and water testing arenas. It also adds a laboratories supplies business - Hypergraph. Eclipse has a great reputation for the quality of its testing, the integrity of its results and service, and is a great addition to the Group.”

ESG now has 34 UKAS accredited laboratories and a employee base exceeding 1400.

3i and funds managed by 3i will remain the majority shareholder in ESG, supporting further growth and consolidation of the business.
