New UKAS accredited on-site mobile testing facility

Environmental Scientifics Group (ESG), the UK’s leading company in Environmental Compliance and geotechnical specialist is pleased to announce that it has developed an on-site facility for testing bituminous materials.

Since 1995, ESG has used UKAS accredited containerised on-site material laboratories to test samples from the natural and built environments, such as earthworks and structural concrete.

The testing of the bituminous materials uses solvents not normally employed within the on-site material laboratories. Therefore, to meet health and safely ventilation requirements, a new bituminous testing lab was added in April. This means that ESG will have a purpose- built, secure containerised portable site facility, to test bituminous materials.

On-site labs such as this, allow customers to benefit from a much greater level of control and flexibility – with experienced on-site staff available for the contract duration, results can be processed and communicated without delay. This means that costs can be reduced, as anomalies can be detected immediately, and the cost of delay in their mitigation is kept to a minimum.
