Sir Steve Redgrave launches Environmental Scientifics Group

Tuesday 03 November 2009

Environmental Scientifics Group, to be commonly known as ESG, is the new name for the combined expertise of Scientifics and the Environmental Services Group encompassing leading brands such as Soil Mechanics, TES Bretby, PMC and CL Voelcker.

The group of companies, initially brought together by Inspicio (a world leading testing and inspection services company), offer a complete solution for all legislative and regulatory environmental compliance from the ground up. Operating in diverse areas such as Geotechnical and Energy testing, Environmental Safely Compliance and Laboratories and Analytical services, the companies share the common theme of being leading independent experts in their respective fields.

With a history dating back more than 100 years, and with more than 1000 employees working in 26 offices nationwide, the ESG group is to be formally launched today by Sir Steve Redgrave at the Churchill War Rooms, London.

The launch, ‘The New Gold Standard,’ signals the development of a new framework that will make it easier for customers to use ESG’s diverse range of services. The businesses will work together ‘as one’ for the benefit of clients, rather than as a collection of individual business units. The launch also demonstrates ESG’s strong commitment to customer service and continued investment to achieve excellence. The brands, Soil Mechanics, Scientifics, TES Bretby, PMC and CL Voelcker, well known and respected in their respective sectors, will remain.

ESG provides expert test, analysis and advice that is UKAS accredited and fully industry and legislatively compliant, providing customers with a high quality and timely service that can be trusted. The group’s employees are experts in their field, and are noted for the very high quality of customer service they provide.

Alex Sleeth, CEO, ESG said: “Business mirrors sport in many areas and Sir Steve Redgrave has personally, over his career, achieved all we have set out to do in our business. The drive and dedication to hard work that Sir Steve demonstrated was essential to achieving his goals. Like Sir Steve, we are committed to being the best in our field and are prepared to invest the resource and energy to ensure we achieve that goal”.

“Our aim with ESG is to have a business which works in partnership with our customers to provide a total solution across a unique range of environmental inspection, testing and consultancy services. We pride ourselves on the levels of accreditation standards the businesses hold which ensure our standards are at the forefront of our industry.”
