VCON1 Standard Contamination Package - Soils

The Guidance on the Assessment and Redevelopment of Contaminated Land - ICRCL 59/83 was withdrawn in December 2001. However the parameters still represent a reasonable starting point for screening materials when guidance is needed for waste disposal; or the material comprises made ground from an unknown source.

This basic package includes all of the determinants for which a Soil Guideline Value has been issued in accordance with CLEA. It is beneficial as a cost effective means of providing starting data for waste classification. The package can be supplemented with a number of additional determinants based on site conditions/observations.

Full interpretative comments can be provided on analysis results, outlining potential limitations to intended end use and/or alternative end uses for the material, waste disposal classifications and potential hazards to known receptors (e.g. the environment, human health, plants and building materials).
